Worried about a noise.....

Guys,

Can any of you mechanical old sweats give me some advice of a potential cause?

Forgive the explanation, it's the best I can articulate.

The noise I have can be described as either a loose cowl vibrating or maybe a worn bearing in something that spins?

To narrow it down....when stationary with gear knob in Park....fine....quiet.
Foot on brake....shift to Drive.....foot still on brake, stationary.....rattling/vibrating.
I may be mad but it almost sounds louder inside than it does outside.

Have any of you guys got any thoughts?

It's been regularly serviced, driven like a baby and only has 65k on it.

Please don't tell me I will have to remortgage to fix it. Big Cry

Gaz. I was born with a photographic memory. Shame it didn't develop!

That would be my first thought too. A rattling heat shield above the exhaust. They are in several sections bolted to the underside of the body.

....thanks so much guys...I'll raise her up and crawl under.
Hopefully it's that. Bow down

I wouldn't of thought the transmission or thrust bearing would need looking at when only at 65k!!! I was born with a photographic memory. Shame it didn't develop!

Please, please, please, make sure you have your box fully flushed when you get to 75k. So many have needlessly failed by shear lack of maintenance. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK
