Not officially I guess. Just a few things people have thought about and considered good practice out of sympathy for the car. There is nothing to it once you get into the habit btw. Most people do most of these things anyway, just that the "right" sequence could have long term benefits (probably very long term). I vaguely remember seeing on TV when I was a lad that - once at a complete standstill - it's common practice to exit the vehicle via the front window, presumably to save wear on door mechanisms. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Everyone has their priorities. I like to keep my car clean but don't get why some people are so anal about the "perfect shine" and get so excited when their paintwork "reflects like a mirror" etc. Mechanical sympathy is more important to me. Each to their own I guess Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Can I ask, as I'm sure a few are wondering, what difference does this make in the long term to the car? |

I think I already tried to explain my point of view but here it is again. I am no expert but this is what I have noticed and also read on the forum:

I'm with fkarim on this. Some of these things might not be 100% necessary but should all help to keep pressure off the gearbox and drivetrain. They're also easy. |
