I'm pretty sure that you (or someone else) could in fact wire them to the ignition live There must be wires on the loom that are exclusively for the led's. The question is if re-routing the wires would create dashboard errors. Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.

You may be able to enable them in the car's set-up using the IIDB tool - DRL's front and rear were required in some markets before the EU rules made them compulsory on all new cars and will possibly be a software option rather than having to make physical alterations that can have knock on effects for other items. This was found to be the case in the Evoque when we wanted to have rear DRL's because too many people were encountering cars in fog/ heavy rain with only the front DRL's on and nothin at all at the back of the car - IIRC The settings for Poland and Sweden will enable front DRL's to come on with the ignition 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
