RRS break fade???

hi all ive recently bought my first rrs its a 2008 tdv8 cracking motor very happy with it but tonight on my way home from the girlfriends ive experienced break fade!!! im a lorry driver by trade so know about break fade but cant make sense of it! ok I was pressing on a bit but nothing extreme! braked ok for the first island from speed then at the next island hit the breaks had a few seconds of strong breaks then a solid feeling from the break pedel at full travel and slowly the car stopped! tried it again just to make sure it wasn't my imagination on the next stretch of by pass but again it struggled to stop! pulled over at a nearby garage yeh breaks smelt hot but nothing out of the ordinary by eye! had a coffee then once they had cooled checked the pads and discs all good with plenty of life in them! so the question is any ideas???? the brembo brakes have been second to non until now and this just worrys me as im sure all you guys and girls will appreciate!!! so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks gav

Tha'ts not brake fade.... That's exactly the symptoms of oil in the brake booster.

It must be changed along with the recall plumbing. LR should still be doing this free of charge.

You can take the booster vacuum pipe off and dip a tie wrap or something in and I'm sure yoiui'll find oil in there and the pipe.

Think it was recall PO17 if you do a search you should find the bulletin.

Ignore the vin range, it should be for all VIN of your era. Bodsys Brake Bible

Roean are pretty good. , but for this recall it would be LR only. Otherwise you'll have to pay for it. Bodsys Brake Bible

And tdv8, so uses the same vacuum mechanism Thumbs Up so same problem.

If it was petrol v8, then that has a separate vacuum motor so not the same problem. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

Ok cool il ring my local dealer tommorow not to sound stupid Dave but what did you say to them? Just inquire about the recall po17! Would be nice if it's just a hassle free fix! I take it that this fault may have just developed on mine as surely the previous owner would of sorted it! Cheers guys
