United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HST Java Black

30 minutes for just the blanking plates Gaz. Not majorly difficult. Plates are about £10 unless you want the full blanking kit for both ends which is about £30. I'm not Fat. RRS TDV6 HST.

.....would I also be correct that if my 2.7 TDV6 is on an 07 plate, that fitting the blanking plates wouldn't throw up an ECU error???

Thanks,

Gaz.

Gaz I'm not sure 2007 onwards RRS can be blanked yet, as fitting the blanking plates will trigger the EML light. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

You need a good remap, changes the car completely.
Search on here and the Disco 3 forum for Pete Bells Remaps http://bellautoservices.co.uk/ In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

There's a fairly sizeable old thread on this which I'm going through on here now....

One guy had an 08 plate done which has not thrown any EML errors.
His VIN was 8A.....mine is a 7A.....

As I understand it some 07/08 MY cars may be running old historic engine software, hence they can get away with just blanking the EGR valves, however if your car is serviced properly then the dealer should have updated/flashed the ECU's to the latest level. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

I've only gone and found a specialist that offers a service of installing the blanking plates and carrying out a re-map to improve efficiency, power and tells the ECU to ignore the EGR data!!

Back of the net!!

Just be aware that EGR operation "may" become part of the MOT, hence why fitting emulators may be the preferred option. Thumbs Up In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

Hi SRE!

The guys in depth explanation claims that there is no effect at MOT time.

Since then, I've spoken to another guy who offers this service.
He does it purely by remapping.
The EGR is programmed to stay shut as well as ignoring it along with usual benefits.
A boost from 188 BHP to 230 BHP.

I'm interested in getting mine done before anything fails!!!

Gaz

2017 It all changes - All emission systems (EGR, DPF, SCR, cDPF and such like) will be visually inspected for defects, missing & tampering. Checked for operation via OBD equipment, this is where emulators come in.

This year 2015 there will be a system that is web based, whereas, access will be available as to what your vehicle MY should be fitted with as standard, this info will be via the manufacturers data base. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

.....wow.....that does throw a spanner in the works doesn't it.

Hell.....what do we do now?

How could an MOT station know a vehicle has been re-mapped if it met the emissions criteria?
