Leaf in fans!

Hi all

Hoping somebody can help me please

I seem to have what I can only describe as a leaf stuck in the fan system as when I have the vents on you can hear a gargling noise. When I took it in to see a dealer they wanted an extortionate amount of money to strip down what they called the 'EVAC' (think I've got that right) system so I didn't bother hoping the leaf would just fall out.

Can anyone let me know if there is an easy way of getting into the system and if it is a straightforward job for somebody who is not particularly handy when it comes to stripping cars.

Getting a bit annoying!!

Cheers

For most cars it is HVAC (heating ventilation and air conditioning).

You can access the heater blower by taking out the cabin filter and you get to that by dropping down the lower glovebox. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

cheers - is it likely then it'll be caught up in the cabin filter?

Hi, never had leaves stuck there but did have water leaking down behind front scuttle trim and finding its way to the cabin filter so it must be possible.
I probably should have said - the fan is immediately above the cabin filter Embarassed

A frequent cause of fan noises is small objects put though the dash vents by small children so if you have any rug-rats they could be responsible. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

You can go up via the blower under the dash (via the filter housing) or down a vent with a cheapo USB borescope. You can get a 7mm wide scope for about £30. They are handy things to have and can save taking big chunks of the dash apart.
