I believe there is a solenoid interlock between the brake pedal and gear selector |

You should hear a similar sound when you press the switch on the gear stick 2010 RRS, TDV8

Lol, I agree with the paranoia!! Every vibration, squeek or sound, and the radio goes off, heating off, and windows closed...
