Good result, get them to give you a loan car for the day. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

Ive just been under the car..... And then I started thinking..... And now I feel like a bit of a Censored

Last week I had the Terraclean done. To do this it involved the fuel line, and before hooking up to it, and after hooking up to it, quite a bit of diesel was spilt. Now looking at the base of the car, this does link in with the terraclean. The seller said he hadnt had any leaks on his drive, and I hadnt up until this week....

Rubbed my finger on the markings in numerous places, and it does smell like diesel I think.... And would the volume be too much for:

* Suspect oil leak from LH Rear cam oil seal
* Transfer box oil leak?

The car is going into my local garage for the EGR valves to be blanked Tuesday, is there an easy way for them to check, or is it a big job just to look at the Cam seal and Transfer Box?

If it is just diesel, I feel like an arse, but at the same time it will save the dealer some money, and he has seemed to be a genuine nice guy.... It does look more Diesely than oiley... but surely the Land Rover Garage would have been able to tell the difference?

Not an expert but it does look like diesel and not oil.
I would still let the dealer investigate and see what he comes up with. MY13.5 Autobiography, Santorini Black, Privacy Glass. Gone
Driving a milk float for now.

Take you 5 mins to tell. Just get some on your fingers.

- You should be able to feel the difference between your fingers - diesel is a lot thinner than engine oil and leaking engine oil will make your fingers very black ! - if its diesel your fingers will stink !!

Well.... Interesting day..... Very Interesting.....

Car has been to my local garage, who I have been using for years. They have just fitted my EGR valves, and also copper greased a few pipes that had been recommended to me.

Anyway.... while I was there I asked them just to have a look at the suspected oil leaks, as I have mentioned about the diesel. They pulled off the covers and had a good look... There is a tiny leak from the transmission box. And by tiny, they said they really struggled to find it, and said it wasnt anything to be slightly worried about. They also made a comment (which I wont repeat) about the rear brakes and discs being absolutely fine.... In fact the comment involved a certain person who "must own a yacht"......

I then rang the guy who I bought the car off, and had a good 30 minute conversation. He also stated that he didnt think there had been any of those issues, as the car had been serviced by Likes Land Rover, and his MOT guy was a very detailed character who picked up on everything! His own lads also did a check, and didnt find anything....

Now, Im not one to point fingers.... but something here does sound a little bit suspect?? But something here does not add up, and I now know of a garage that I will not use again.

My seller is sending me the money to have the MAF replaced..... 2006 HSE for Sale - £7,499 (Manchester)

To be honest the painted bells are barely visible when the wheel is on and look a lot better than the usual rusty crusty mess that ensues when an unpainted disc is fitted.
Your disc looks to have a bit of a lip at the outer edge and some scoring on the braking surface. Can't see the depth of pad left but if your garage advised they are OK then just keep an eye on the wear until the pads are thin and next time replace pads and discs. It is a false economy not to have the handbrake shoes and mechanism stripped, cleaned, lubricated and adjusted at the same time. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE
