Can't Fill er up..!

Running low on fuel....called into filling station.....fuel flap won't open Shocked
Tried locking/unlocking...looked in inside access panel, no sign of any manual override, checked manual, nothing.. Confused
Decided to get to Dealer before fuel ran out rather than try to force it open. Sad
The Service reception guy at Hartwells Oxford came out had a look, seems as this has happened a few times before with other RRS, took into workshop, back out a few minutes later, disabled lock until new cable can be ordered and installed.
It seems that the flap is released by a mechnical cable operated by the lock somehow which may be sticking. Crying or Very sad
One tip the guy gave me, if it happens again you can pull the cable from inside the access panel..this is an unofficial way of doing it Wink Arrived - RRSport 2016 HSE SDV6 HSE

Gone - RRSPORT 2010 TDV6 HSE

S'pose is one way to save fuel costs. Bit like going on diet by sewing up lips! Shocked

My D3 has done this a couple of times - I've tried banging the flap to no avail. Simply locking/unlocking the doors sorts it out! Steve N | 21MY Defender (on order) | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

I think there's a service bulletin in GTR about this... this has been reported a few times (and actually happened to the RRS I took out for a test drive pre-purchase).

I had this a while back only a day after a post on here somewhere. Apparently the panel in the rear is partly for this - i could not open fuel flap and had to reach through access panel to encourage cable to release fuel flap - never had it since and unlock lock etc didn't help...
