What profile tyre to use on 2009 vehicle.......does it have to be 35mm or can you go above that without causing problems elsewhere.

i had 40 profile on as advised so wheels dont crack when hitting pot holes,all was fine  silverRRS 2.7 TDV6 22"WHEELS FULL COLOUR CODE,STEPS,REMAP..gone
