While I accept that deployable side steps are a bit 'marmite' (more usually associated with cost), I'm struggling with how/why you manage to get got by them?

The steps are a must IMHO (fixed or deployable).

No - walk up to the car, open the door, raise one leg to get in and the side-step smacks the ankle you're standing on. The RRS in the showroom had the side-step very close to the floor so I'm guessing the suspension was at it's lowest level - I certainly didn't need the step to get in, indeed at that height it was pointless - although I can understand the need if suspension is at off-road height. |
