On Sunday my brakes went to the floor after a fast drive through the lanes, foot brake went to the floor!
Not sure if it was just brake fade, but having no brakes was interesting.

I am going to change the brake fluid as it looks dark but thinking about changing the master cylinder at the same time as I have one.

Can you traditionally manually bleed the system, after fitting the master cylinder?

Yes, you can bleed in the traditional way. You may have to bleed as far as the ABS modulator first, to get the fluid moving, then at the wheels.

If the fluid is dark it may well be master-cyl seals that are discolouring it. Or you have seriously boiled the fluid !!

I fitted pads from euro parts pagid, which i think has caused the problem as they dont like the heat and boiled the fluid.

Back to ebc's as i never had a problem with those.

How do you bleed the abs mod, can i draw it through with a pressure vacuum? Tdv8 range rover sport

I just cracked a pipe union on the ABS modulator and bled in the old fashioned way, with an assistant pumping the pedal.

I think the heat generated is linked directly to pedal pressure, co-efficient of friction and leverage (disc diameter). Perhaps you should consider braking a bit less heavily in your 2.5 tonne grand prix contender.
