Rear demister switch off

Hi everyone.

On my previous cars, my rear window demister button once pressed (turned on) would automatically turn itself off again several minutes later. It's varied from 5 to 10 minutes. On my fiancés Clio its about 10minutes.

My RRS doesn't do that and stays on until I manually press the switch. Is this normal? I drive to work which takes about 30minutes and the rear demister can still be on when I arrive.

What model year do you have?

I thought mine turned off after about 15 mins on my MY12, but not sure if that was the case for all models.
Hopefully someone more knowledgeable (not difficult Embarassed ) will be along soon Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

From a MY10 Owners Manual: Thumbs Up

HEATED SCREENS AND MIRRORS
Press button to operate the required screen heater. The screen heater(s) will operate for a
timed period before automatically switching off.

The screen heaters will be automatically switched on if defrost mode is activated or if the external air temperature is low.
Note: The screen heaters only operate when the engine is running.

Doesn't say what that timed period is though Confused ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i
