United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
My first gremlin / issue

Today when driving into work i had it washed and dried, then after that it randomly kept popping up 'Driver Intervene'.

Now this sounds like it's something to do with the adaptive cruise control, however no cruise control was active.

Could this be down to a sensor or something?

I'm going to take it out dinner time again and see if it re-occurs, but has anyone had this issue before?

Thank You. 57 Reg TDV8 - Java Black - Privacy Glass - Side Steps Smile

Think i have answered my own question...i managed to find the search button Wink

I switched on the parking sensors earlier with the P button...is this the same as forward alert? 57 Reg TDV8 - Java Black - Privacy Glass - Side Steps Smile

There are separate buttons for parking sensors and forward alert. The "driver intervene" message is forward alert. I've never seen the point of forward alert - I assume it's intended to be used in crawling traffic once the cruise control has deactivated. Presumably it's for people who can't concentrate on the road ahead for more than 5 seconds.

The new active cruise fitted to new FFRR & RRS2 has a queuing mode so you don't need forward alert. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

You can set the distance for forward alert between 50 to 400 metres as far as I can remember, never really gelled with the system as I could never get used to the car slowing down as was changing lanes. I suspect the sensor was heavily steamed to get the dead flies off and some water has got somewhere it shouldn't 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!

Have to disagree, forward alertt is a great bit of safety kit. If you drive normally you will never know it's on but the minute you are not braking and there's a car ahead it lets you know. Best example is coming towards a roundabout, alls clear to the right, you ease off the brake and at the last minute you realise the car in front has remained stopped. Forward alert would warn you of this instantly! Brilliant idea.

Just been out in it again, it was just the forward alert switched on so everything is fine.

Thanks for the pointers anyway, appreciated! 57 Reg TDV8 - Java Black - Privacy Glass - Side Steps Smile

Andi, general idea is you look at car ahead not what's coming round the roundabout Whistle Thumbs Up
Use cruise constantly especially with caravan on back, but like to be in control rather than relying on the car. Suppose other alternative is hire a chauffeur and not worry at all Thumbs Up 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Couldn't agree more, but accidents happen, if it stops one it's a great idea.

I agree that forward alert is useful. It's like having the wife sat constantly with me and usually only bleeps when I've left braking late. Thumbs Up Range Rover Sport HSE DYnamic SDV6 Velocity blue 2020 MY

+ 1 for Forward Alert. I really like it. Gives me a smidge of extra peace of mind in busy city traffic while I'm fiddling with the radio. Embarassed

The Adaptive Cruise part on my car, on the other hand, is pretty hopeless because it does not do the human capability for anticipation. It works on ok quiet or flowing roads but on busy motorways it's a pain. I had the same issue with Jaguar. I'm not sure if any manufacturer has really cracked this yet or not. The one feature I would find very useful is traffic crawling but that's not a feature available on the old model. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
