Alternator / battery or something else ...?

Any ideas on this one please all.. (55 plate S/C 65k miles)

Left home early this morning, drove 100 miles without problem then got the battery light come on travelling at 70mph. Got into services and called the AA out. Charge was fine (12.25v engine off 13.67v engine on) Alternator belt ok and in good condition.

AA said ok to drive but get full diagnosis. Drove further 30 miles with AA following then pulled over to recheck. Charge still good but battery light still on. Another 70 miles to complete journey, still driving fine, charge still good but warning light still on.

I'm guessing it must be something to do with the alternator but any other ideas ? Confused

Many thanks. Carl

Good luck.
