rear propshaft centre bearing

hi fellas,1st of all i know a lot of people will recommend buying a new prop but as i have already bought the centre bearing im going to give it a go,i have tapped away at the baked bean tin that covers the ball bearings but what i would like to know is it just a case of taking out the ball bearings and carrier then splitting the prop with a big hammer or is there something more technichal i should know about ,thanks in advance Thumbs Up silverRRS 2.7 TDV6 22"WHEELS FULL COLOUR CODE,STEPS,REMAP..gone

quick update, just fitted my new centre bearing and i have to say it was quite straight forward, the difference in the drive is massive i dont have any vibration under load now which i thought was my gearbox and seems much smoother Very Happy silverRRS 2.7 TDV6 22"WHEELS FULL COLOUR CODE,STEPS,REMAP..gone

Did you make any photos?
do you experience less play on the drive train?

how did you slit the propshaft and did it slide back together easily?

didnt take pics sorry, you just un pic the tin cover to expose ball bearings, then release the clip then tap it apart, you need a puller to remove old bearing off shaft, taking care to notice which way the washers etc go back on then use a drift to knock on new bearing fill with grease new tie wrap and job done Thumbs Up silverRRS 2.7 TDV6 22"WHEELS FULL COLOUR CODE,STEPS,REMAP..gone
