It's a diesel, they all do that to a lesser or greater degree. Has it had a remap done? Excessive fuelling will cause black smoke. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Probably a split turbo hose. Very common on TDV6 Thumbs Up

Had this very recently on my 55 plate tdv6. Black smoke on acceleration.

EGR valves blanked off solved the problem completely. Could be same problem

I beleive this can only be done up to 2007 models?

Had the same AFTER the both EGR valves were replaced.

Turbo hose was split, probably by mishandling LR dealer Barcelona. Evil or Very Mad

After quick replacement, the car was fine. SW

sometimes we must do what is required.

I had this - Tried blanking EGR valves & replacing Turbo hoses. Neither worked.

More investigation showed damage to the Intercooler (looked like it was hit with a rock). Had this replaced and rectified the problem. LCFC. Receiver of threatening letters from Overfinch.

Split hoses / damaged intercoolers all lead to the same thing - over fuelling because the system expects a certain amount of air to arrive at the engine and some of it disappears through the hole before it gets there Rolling with laughter 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

lift up your bonnet and look down at the engine, there will be two rubber pies/hoses, both identical, both running from the intercooler, one to each turbo 07,TDV8,Black, Black Heated leather all round, Rear Entertainment with Headpones & Remote, TV, DVD, Pure Dab Digital Radio, Sidesteps, Adaptive Headlights, sunroof, now working fuel burning heater Smile)))
