2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey
Parking brake fault, stereo turns off then clears!

Hi all, wondering if anyone has come across this issue before? When starting the car (usually when cold) the parking fault light comes on, the dash flashes loads, and the stereo turns off! After a few seconds it stops, then performs perfectly normally. The car is a 2007 2.7td.

It's been back at the dealer since Friday and they've managed to recreate it, but not yet found out what is causing it. Pretty sure whatever they find will be covered by warranty, it has 6 months of LR warranty left and then 2 years Inchcape warranty. Curious to know if anyone else has had it to know if I get blagged! 07 TDV6 HSE in Stornoway Grey, 20" alloys |08 XF SV8 on order.

My sat nav seems to suffer when it's cold and takes a while to spring to life. Big loads on the battery I think so it may just me your battery complaining?

England 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged HSE Santorini Black

Slightly different to the fault that I had, but for the sake of 5 minutes checking the wiring loom at the n/s/r wheelarch, I'd say it is worth a go. I didn't take the wheel off, just put the suspension in high.

OK I'm being advised that the alternator is faulty, that it is overcharging at 17+ and the safe limit is 16 (but should be 12-14.4). When it exceeds 16 the modules shut down for protection.

Sounds feasible and the alternator is being replaced under warranty but recommendation is a new battery. Mad as the car has been there for 2.5 weeks, I have asked for a replacement as a gesture of goodwill! 07 TDV6 HSE in Stornoway Grey, 20" alloys |08 XF SV8 on order.
