United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
New motor coming ,list of shopping priorities to get..

So if all goes well i pick up my first RRS 3.6 this weekend 2007.
the tyres are first, as all of them have been damaged (curbed) then its in for a health check at R-Tech to see if all my bushes etc are in good order, followed by 4 wheel alignment (camber/caster) then i cant help but want the extra 190nm of torque offered from superchip re-map, that's an amazing increase, concidering some small cars only produce 90nm of torque standard.

So based on the shear bad luck on my previous purchase im treating myself to some feel good bits... Cool

My remap was a superchip one, 20 mph to 120 mph in a smooth surge of torque! Thumbs Up 5.0 Ltr Superchrged RRS2, Chile Red, Sideways out of junctions!
TDV8 HST Stornaway on a 08.. remapped.. now gone and replaced, was a mighty fine car..
4.2 SC First Edition when they first came out, quick car!

R-TEC? You serious? Isn't that the place in St Albans where all the Max Power and Fast and Furious wannabes hang out?

For the 4 wheel alignment you need to know the car should be put into tight tolerance mode with a suitable diagnostic tool and that the TDV8 has slightly different settings to the TDV6. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Its normally got a few Revere Range rovers for sale, so i thought its worth a visit today.
if young lads go there, does it make it a place not to go?
if they know there stuff its good enough for me, if they dont then i would hope im told before i go book in.. Wink

Does that remap when used to full extent mean:
additonal stress on Turbos,
additional stress and heat on transmission and diffs,
additional stress on engine cooling system?

and that these three items have been operating under different conditions over the past 6 years!!

that does not sound as the smartest shopping list to begin with if you are just getting the car.

my advise is to first get the car and drive it and find out whether the above is in a sufficient state to begin with. different conditions inside the automatic transmission might loosen up particles which can block valves, sensors etc.

Hi

Don't bank on an extra 190nm of torque and 53bhp on a remap by Superchips, had my TDV8 done by them and only got extra 100nm of torque and 32bhp. which still gives it some get up and go though.

Before anybody asks those figures were recorded on Superchips own Dyno. They also did a full engine diag. to check there were no other underlying faults with engine.

Cheers
Col
