Sounds good Thumbs Up

I think you have to get approval from WD, pay the garage after works and then claim from WD later but this is only a small inconvenience if the cover is good.

I should clarify that I haven't used them. Bought a WD policy but cancelled as my car was eligible for LR Approved and I thought it would be better even with wear & tear exclusion so went with LR. I do think WD would be better than LR Select though. Would be best to wait for a response from someone else (like JasM who posted above) who actually has/had a WD policy as they would undoubtedly have more info than me.

The guy said that once I'd got the car to a garage they deal direct with the garage/dealer...

If the garage or dealer wasn't happy to be paid by WD, then they'd simply pay me and I'd pay the garage.

My local independent is fine with WD payment should the need arise!

Seems great cover to me.

Hi fkarim,

Yup - includes Sat nav all media and electrics.

The £200/hour was either dealer or independent so long as VAT registered

He removed the paying a portion of parts cost - so no parts to pay whatsoever - all will be paid for and included.

All I need do is get the car to the garage they'll dothe rest.

I really can't think of anything else I'd need to check is included...!

Simon

Sounds good, I'd be cheeky and offer them £1,500 for the 3 years and see what they say Wink ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Simon, Is there a clause where they reduce cover over a certain mileage of the car?

Hi,

Even though I'm a 5k-6,000 mile a year driver, cover would be up to 12,000 miles and up to 130,000 in total and 13 years...

I really cannot think of anything else he missed out - seemed to give me the works and some!!

I really did hammer him on the phone for everything and even sent him subsequent emails with certain scenarios that I've picked up from other forums like moneysavingexpert etc where WD seemingly didn't want to pay up or failed gearbox which they said was 'fair wear and tear' - and he wrote back clarifying to my satisfaction. Great for me as I've now got most horroe scenarios covered and in writing from WD!

So long as my RRS gets a clean bill of health at the pre-warrenty inspection (£70) - my wear and tear cover will start from day 1 of the policy.

All does seem very good.

Simon

Sounds like a great deal. I paid £745 for my 13 months cover. Although it was originally £695 but I paid the extra £50 to have the parts contribution cost removed. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

Update:

I tried for £1500 for the three years cover but that figure is actually lower than the underwriting costs...

But, WD came down to £1775 for 37 months as per original quote of £2300

Extra Care package for the whole duration of warranty

In Car Entertainment package included

Emissions upgrade included

Main dealer repairs

100% parts and labour paid for the duration of the warranty

Wear and tear from day 1

So, I'm extremely happy with that!!

Simon
