Yes, I would too. I like those. I wouldn't pay five hundred quid though...... B3EEE, they do. Read the OP's link. Doesn't say if they have the resistors on there though. At £250 I would happily solder em in. Edit: I just tweeted them with a topic link and said they were too expensive. Let's see what occurs. |

Beancounter has been waiting sooo long to see these, but now he has sold his sport But thinking about it, they do look a similar design to the rear lights of his new car.

I can't help thinking that you chaps wanting them for £250 are being a little delusional. There is natually a limited market for this sort of modification and it has had to be homologated in the EU (and I think they've done the US too). That's a lot of money thrown at it before they even sell one unit. Expecting a pair of lights for £250 is just being silly. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

£250 each, yes, thats silly, but £250 each for an order of 20 ? Maybe even 30 ? Especially to kickstart a sales campaign and get some product out onto the road doing some advertising for them, for FREE. Plus great photos and reviews and 'chat' on forums - thats priceless in marketing terms ! To tell you the truth if Glohh came back here and said great idea, but costs are impossible, but we can break even at £300-£350, I bet there'd still be a lot of takers for them. £250 / £300 sounds about right for a group buy, as a guide, the Hawk aftermarket lights retail for a tad over £300.

I agree it's defiantly good marketing of them it just depends how much profit per unit they are prepared to lose.

Bang on B3EEE. We do giveaways that lose money but are invaluable in terms of exposure It would be good marketing for Glohh as getting them out on the road on cars would make for marketing you just cannot buy. Pretty soon topics will pop up on Pistonheads and similar sites and people will get to know about them. £250 will still be over base cost. If launching a product, I would be happy to do something like a group buy on a site like this. After all, if it gets the thumbs up from members here, guys meet each other, chat, others will want to stock them etc., and it snowballs. i cant see how £250 is unrealistic, having had and modified bmw's for 11 years i cant believe how expensive aftermarket bits are for the rrs, i'm desperate for new rear lights for mine and they all seem £300+, the crystal rear lights i bought for my x5 were around £130 so why are rrs ones so much? |

I sent Glohh a PM along with a link to this thread with the hope that he might add a comment to some of the replies. As of yet, nothing, even though he has received my PM. So we will see if he adds anything later. Its in his own intrest. |
