TDV8 engine replacement required

Hi all,
I was given bad news from my local garage today that my RRS 3.6 TDV8 needs an entire new engine. I live in the far NE of Scotland so as you can imagine there aren't many places up here to get a replacement engine fitted. I have seen several on the net including Global Engines who do fitting etc.
Are there any recommendations?

Cheers in advance

Sorry to hear this.......BUT before you consign yourself to a new engine, how old's the car and what sort of history do you have with it.
If premature failure, you may be able to get LR to contribute. Check out a few threads on here where people have had better than expected outcomes because of perseverance. Nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that Wink

There's a thread by 'Simple1' on here about the woes he had with his TDV8 and a few others, my advice take some time to search and read on here, before getting your purse out Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Bad luck Jacobite - Simple1 has been through your pain and is now our resident expert - sure he will be along soon Bow down

These engines are difficult to source and in view of the number on here with your issue I would be wary of second hand replacements in case you end up going through same again Sad

Depending on fsh, age and mileage you may get a contribution from Land Rover Customer Services Confused

Oh dear...... Not another? As correctly observed, engines are few and far between, and depending on cause of failure and resultant damage, I fear it won't just be an engine you need Big Cry
If your car has average miles, full history and hasnt been remapped, LR will no doubt help.
Welcome to PM or email me and I will pass you the contacts at LR who helped and guided me but they will insist car is taken to a dealer. I spoke to global in desperation and didn't like the answers I was getting and they won't get involved in changing turbos or induction system which usually become contaminated in the case of engine failure. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
