Just returned home after 3 hours in the police station , after being arrested for beating the out of a thieving . I only went outside to the recycle bin , it was going dark but I noticed him crouched behind my car on my driveway . Asked the what he was doing and he gave me some lame excuse about hiding from someone ? ( I live in a cul de sac with 6 houses on it ,in a very nice area) I grabbed the and found he had 2 screwdrivers in the waistband of his jeans ?
Now I'm not a violent man , but I am 17 stone and fought Muay Thai for 15 years before settling down to married life .
This picked the wrong guy and the wrong car , I wouldn't mind but I don't even have the facelift lights !!! The stupid .

My neighbors heard the shouting and came outside to drag me of him , and rang the police , otherwise I would have dragged him to a nearby field, and left him there !!!

Rant over , you guys take care and get these security screws fitted .

I thinks it's a real shame that we don't have a law that allows us to defend our property in the UK. Very understandable why you did.

No news since Tuesday !!!
The wheels of justice must be running slowly, which doesn't help me from wondering how much my fine will be ??
This is my first offense , and now I've calmed down I'm not proud of what I did , but my blood was boiling .
Will buy the black caps tomorrow and fit some security screws , maybe that way I'll avoid my second offense .

Not to scare you, but it doesn't matter if it's your first or fiftieth offence. Did you do much damage to the guy ?

What have the police charged you with ?

As of yet I haven't been charged with anything, just arrested and interviewed under caution.
I have to return to the police station 2pm Tuesday.

I had a solicitor present at the interview, and as I was making my written statement , the police officer kept interrupting with things like "was I scared" "did I think the guy would stab me with the screwdrivers " ect etc etc !!!
I had the distinct feeling he knew something about the guy that I obviously didn't ???

As for damage ??? Like I said , I trained and competed in Muay Thai for over 15 years so I could have caused a lot more .
I just have to wait my outcome next Tuesday.

On the plus side security screws and caps fitted this evening

A bit of advice, if you haven't mentioned the Muay Thai in your original statement, don't, also you should be saying that you were fearful for yours and your families safety, in essence the guys screwdrivers can be classed as weapons, this would aid the Police, do not agree to a caution, as this can make getting into the states and other countries difficult nowadays.
