You will always get the v8 from the v8 boys and v6 from the v6 boys.

Drive both but most important buy on condition.

I have owned several TDV6s (albeit D3s) and when remapped they are VERY good. Now own a remapped TDV8 and that too is very good. Whatever you decide on i am sure you will be happy, but the difference between standard and remapped on both engines is HUGE and well worth the expense

For comparison i would compare my old remapped TDV6 to how my standard TDV8 was.

TDV8 every time.
Getting any potential purchase checked if it has any fault codes stored is a must for me .it will cost around £40-60 but could save you lots and lots of money, you can not tell unless its plugged up to diagnostic equipment if there is any underlying faults . I have been caught out in the past .
