Mine does the same thing. I spent a lot of time looking at it trying to get it to go all the way through the chassis hole. Never managed to get it to do more than you describe though. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

If I was using mine for towing more than I have been (the horse hasn't been out on an outing for ages) then I'd have a multi-height bar fitted for security. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

My detachable tow bar is the same. Going back to Land Rover dealer on Monday to check it for me. Bought for occasional horse box towing so need to be sure. |

Hi Sheep1903, Spoke to a guy from Land Rover. The factory fitted bracket on the car is tapered at the back so gets thicker towards the top. Theres more of the pin going through the locating hole than you think. Also there should be no green band showing on the lock when it is fitted and as mentioned the key should come straight out when locked. |

Mine did the same. I took a very fine detail file to the housing on the car and just cleaned up the rough casting marks in the slot the locking 'pin' goes into. The 'pin' now goes a bit further into its slot.
