It's something I've contemplated awd and I keep coming back to staying with my current RRS.

I thinks it's a very personal decision that will attract many opinions, but for me, the new one just doesn't float my boat at the moment. Sure, I'm sure a time will come when I'll like it, but at the moment, it's stay with the current or jump brands Shocked for me. ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

I certainly wouldn't have the new SE. It's a RRS-lite as far as I can see.

I wouldn't have an "old" one with a bodykit either.

I would go for a late "old" one in HSE.

Actually, I'm staying with my "very old" one for a while and might look to go to the new RRS or FFRR in a couple of years. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I agree, the new look and the price will have to grow on me, however I had the same problem with the 2010 facelift the smaller grill and front end did not look like a Range Rover to me, and now its the norm. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

I would go for the new model. Looks so much better than the old one and handles like a Range Rover Sport should. (IMO) Thumbs Up Arrived: MY16 A/B SDV6 in Aruba, Ivory interior, piano black trim, black panoramic roof, spare wheel, blind spot monitoring, mudlaps and more... Twisted Evil

Go for one 12 months or so old and let someone else take the first year's heavy depreciation.

Considering ive got one of the vehicles in your choice awd, if i was offered a brand new sport SE as a straight swap then i wouldn't do it. As Bc says, its a personal choice and i also like my motors to be well specced which mine is. For me to spec a new sport anywhere near the current spec of mine i'd be looking at around 75k Shocked which is rediculous. As said above, if you really decide on a new shape, then let someone else take the depreciation hit, but it will be a good 12 months due to delays in supply and the back log of orders. Chances are you will get an HSE.

Thanks for the comments everyone....

I think leaving it another 12 months sounds the best option, and if I decide on the current outgoing model I'll save myself some more dosh Rolling with laughter RRS gone

I would support the view above.

The 13my are very similar to the 2014 in handling etc, its not earth shattering albeit improved and the equivelant spec then gets to serious hard cash.

As soon as I get to the dealer to talk my 2013 sport won't be replaced with another sport for a fair few years if at all.

The new ones design will grow on me more and the specs will change but for now you can't really straight swop and certainly not autobio old to new se Mike

Having driven a friend's MY13 Black Edition, I was surprised how much better the road manners were than my MY08 TDV8. I did find the engine a little lacking but only when overtaking where the slight lack of torque seemed obvious. I don't really see what thee MY14 would have over that, especially in SE spec.

I can see where the MY14 HSE Dynamic would be nice with the new SDV6, but in SE TDV6 trim? No chance! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Scotland 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 SE Santorini Black

I've had a good look round the new model , and there are 4 wee niggles
1, the steering wheel is now too cluttered with lots of pods for cruise/radio controls
2, the boot is a lot narrower reducing usable load space, although it is supposedly bigger, and the rear seats don't fold flat
3, there is only one glove compartment, I like the small top one, easy to reach for storage.
4, the start button is way out of reach, you need arms like a monkey to start it

I will stick up for the SE though, everyone poo poos it, but underneath it is the same car, and can be specced just how you want it. I enjoy the fact that mine costs me a few £k less in company car tax than an HSE, especially since I will be keeping mine for another couple of years. When it comes to changing I dare say I will get the new one in SE spec unless there is something else that comes along (like a bigger evoque with a V6 and air suspension or am I dreaming)

Cheers

I think we are talking about the new SE - which isnt the same as the HSE and cant be speced the same as the HSE. Mike

As Mike says, the new SE is not in anyway like the old SE which was just another RRS to which you could add most options if you wished. The new SE can't be spec'd with proper 4WD nor any of the dynamic stuff. A number other options appear to be unavailable too. And it gets the old-spec TDV6 only. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
