Hawkeye v gap IId tool

Already use hawkeye for running diagnostics, does the gap iidtool have any advantages apart from the bluetooth/app feature??
Thanks

If you go to their Website they have a full list of all the things you can do with the IID BT tool,
I found it great to use with my iPad, the suspension heights, for me were a great useful feature, there is just so much you can do with it, but I'm afraid I don't know the other make to compare. John

From my understanding the hawkeye system is made more for Shops and independent technicians however, the IIDTool is in my opinion, better. It's a small plugin that only requires your phone and the app..... The Hawkeye system is cumbersome and not as portable. Also, I'm pretty sure that the IIDTool can do anything the Hawkeye can do, ifnot more.

You appear to be a little mistaken Thumbs Up

The Hawkeye is a self contained unit and cable, that will read and clear fault codes, reset service lights etc

The IID is a much smaller, more compact unit, and can be used via the steering wheel buttons on the non-Bluetooth, or via IOS/Android apps with the the BT models.
The IID is far superior in its capabilities and functions, from fault codes, to service functions, CCF editing and ECU programming

I use the IID on an almost daily basis in the workshop, or out and about

I do still have a Hawkeye, but only for Freelander 1, as the IID currently does not support said model Thumbs Up

Thanks for the replies, just looking at the IIdtool it seems more advanced. Hawkeys works fine but maybe its getting a bit dated now?

Kind of useless to check though since you have an RRS. For our cars the IIDTool is way better and more portable. I have the BT version and I love it! I don't know where it is right now because it's so small and easy to lose but I love it. Laughing

As I stated earlier I only know the IID BT unit and I can fully vouch that this is a great bit of kit. It is small, easy to use, you can download manual etc, if you don't have a iPad or equivalent Android unit you can use your phone or even the controls on the car steering wheel, and view on the display there. I would advise anyone before purchasing to check what it can do (most things) and have the need of one as at £400 for the Bluetooth version, it is a lot of money, thoroughly worth it IMHO, but the things you can use it for and to check everything, can also save you a lot of money very quickly. It is locked to one vehicle, but can be registered for others if you pay a fee.

For business use they also do a unit unlocked to be used for all listed vehicles, of course this costs far more money. Wink

The IID tool and the IID BT tool can both be updated at no extra charge as well. There are future plans for tuning programs etc.
To be honest there is nothing on the market for up to double the price of the IID BT, that is capable of doing anything like the amount of things that this unit can. Thoroughly recommended.

(I should state that I have nothing to do with this Company.) John
