How good is yours?

I've been reading a lot of negative comments recently about problems with RRS, particularly muddywheels and simple1, I do sincerely sympathise with you guys and fully appreciate you sharing your experiences with us, after all thats the reason for forums like this but I feel we could perhaps raise the game by asking members of their good experiences with their RRS.
I am now on my second RRS and can honestly say that the past 4 years has been a thoroughly good experience with no problems or expenses (I know general expenses are not cheap compared to your run of the mill ford focus Big Cry) apart from routine services and a couple of minor warranty issues.
Perhaps we can have a few more members letting us know of the good side of RRS ownership Thumbs Up 2019 BMW X3 2.0i M Sport in metalic black- Brilliant

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

I couldn't fault my 2006 TDV6 HSE. Had it for 15 months sold it when it had 52500 miles on the clock.
Now 2012 SDV6 HSE fantastic motor and can't fault it either. Nearly clocked up a mere 13000 miles now, had it from new. Thumbs Up

Had mine for 15 months and done 22000 miles with no problems. Had 2 sets of tyres (first set lasted 8000 miles) and replaced front discs and pads (fair wear and tear) otherwise problem free. Thumbs Up

If others are adding to this, can they say if their cars are dealer supplied, independant garage or private?

At the risk of tempting fate........Had mine 20 months now from new (supplied by LPR) and apart from the first year service I had one issue where the car went into limp mode, the cause of which was found to be a loose turbo inlet pipe, which was sorted after diagnosis without too much drama and an Evoque to trot about in the meantime.

This is what the forum is all about members post when they have faults or problems but very rarely post when things are going good its human nature..

I deal with RRS,D3 and D4 and its the same with all of them, you do get the rouge ones but I would say for each of the different models if routinely serviced they are great cars..

Flack Thumbs Up

I had a short run of issues a or so year ago. Battery died (wrong battery had been fitted at some point) then the alternator. Starter motor died. The replacement failed within 6 months! Rear dynamic ARB leaked and was replaced. Thermostat housing started leaking and was replaced. All done under warranty.

Usual wear and tear issues such as front ARB bushes, front wishbone bushes and a front wheel bearing have been carried out.

But other than that it's a pleasure to drive. Done some light off roading with it and it's always impressive off tarmac.

Cracking vehicle. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I've had mine for 15 months now, bought privately from the first owner while still within the 3-year warranty, originally supplied to him by LPR. Bought at 33k miles, now at 45k.

I am not sure if I should be posting here because it had a lazy suspension compressor replaced last year and about £2.5k worth of work done on it (new CD player, EPB module, drop links, bushes etc.) just 2 months ago, so not completely trouble free. However, since all bar one item (faulty CD player) was pre-emptive maintenance rather than breakdown and all covered under extended warranty, it didn't cost me a penny, I am very happy.

Non-accessory expenses during my ownership were just services/MoTs, wiper blades, replacing spare wheel and winch after theft, tyres, rear brake discs, pads and shoes. Never had any issues with the engine/gearbox and never seen any warning/fault lights on the dash.

I also know the previous owner only had the seat track adjusted under warranty and didn't have any other problems.

Have done some really long trips on it in both very cold and very hot weather so it's not like it hasn't been put to any tests.

Given the issues faced by so many here, can't help thinking may be the reliability has something to do with it being one of the very last pre-facelift cars so all problems sorted by then.

Very satisfied and whenever it goes, will almost certainly be replaced by another LR Thumbs Up

Mine was serviced every year hence LR contributing towards the engine. The last service was 3000 prior to the engine blow up so servicing doesn't help Rolling Eyes
As I have always said, I loved my car, miss it like an old friend but just couldn't put up with any more failures and inept service from dealers. When the car went well which was 60% of its life, I couldn't fault it, had it been reliable I would have kept it without a thought. But after £16000 was spent on it, and that's at discounted parts and labour, it still wasn't right. So is it the car, or more likely the tw*ts that work on it and cause the problems??? Bow down 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!

I bought an 06 3 years ago from an independent dealer. After going through 3 years of minor issues and the feeling the car was a ticking time bomb waiting to go off and cost me lots of money I traded up for an 11 which I am very happy with and it is all the car the first one should have been.

Although new car is main dealer, service from the 2 is pretty much the same. Have to say I am enjoying the feeling of safety having the manufacturer warranty on these expensive, unreliable beasts.

For me you have to come to terms with the fact they are expensive, unreliable things. But they have space like no other and give you a good feeling driving. I never expected to own another one but after looking for a replacement nothing matched it. 2011 Autobiography Santorini Black
