If it's in valet mode phone book, nav and boot should be disabled

As MW says, you input a pin each time you activate the valet mode.

I went into vehicle settings and it just says valet mode please enter pin.

i believe its automatically set what it disables to stop the valet looking at were you have driven/home sat nav etc

Most valets I've seen around London are lucky they can walk and chew gum, let alone pop the bonnet and disconnect the battery ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

What about the 'physical' key, that presumably would still work a lock. I know it's HIGHLY unlikely, but I'd want some reassurance from the dealer.

You don't need to reset valet mode - just enter your own pin to turn it on and off
