Just went into the settings part of the comp and it says its in valet mode.
Is there a std LR PIN to take it out of valet mode or would this be a PIN a previous owner has set?
Looking at some posts on here it says valet mode disables things like sat nav but all that is working fine.

If it's in valet mode phone book, nav and boot should be disabled

As MW says, you input a pin each time you activate the valet mode.

For you to get into that screen, it sounds like you are NOT in valet mode. ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

I went into vehicle settings and it just says valet mode please enter pin.
It gives me no other options to look at the vehicle settings. Current 2010 RRS TDV8

i believe its automatically set what it disables to stop the valet looking at were you have driven/home sat nav etc

it should give a detailed description in your cars manual

And therein lies the problem.
The previous owner still has the manual and the service book and one spare key.
Dealer is process of replacing them and should have them next week.

Will something like a hard reset not knock the valet mode out?
I'm sure the dealer could make a call to the previous owner for the code, I'd not be happy they had a key to be honest, I'd want that back too! ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

I'm not happy there is a key missing but apparently it got lost.
The dealer has said they can reprogramme both keys with a new code or whatever so that other key will not work.
I guess the valet code can't be reset then without knowing previous pin? Current 2010 RRS TDV8

What about the 'physical' key, that presumably would still work a lock. I know it's HIGHLY unlikely, but I'd want some reassurance from the dealer.
