I know that feeling; I rather fancy a road trip down to Italy but I really can't swear that I'm confident of getting there and back in the Sport without a reliability issue. Which is ridiculous in something that is intended to be a sports tourer - that sort of journey is what the Sport should be perfect for. The fact that a friend did something similar last year and had three days of problems in northern Italy thanks to his Sport letting him down makes me think twice and then twice again! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

Think you have to think positive and just go do it. Just make sure you have European rescue. I'm going to do the Tuscan trip thing, although in the barge it won't be quite so much fun.

Thanks for telling your story - quite unbelievable but less so when you hear about Muddy Wheels troubles too.

Never going to happen - the whole point of franchised dealers is that the manufacturer makes money and the dealers take the flack. At least that's how the suits view it. Anyone with any sense would realise that manufacturers who deal properly with customer issues build a reputation for being customer focussed and caring. People will then put up with the occasional issues. If you go down the "we don't care" route that LR (and others) have gone down you better make sure your product is faultless. Or that you have a large untapped market. LR don't care about their UK customer base because the rest of the world is a big new market place. I used to work with a chap who drive a BMW 325. He got a letter from BMW saying that there had been reports that there was a manufacturing issue with the engine. They replaced the engine free of charge even though it was running beautifully. Unsurprisingly he's had several BMWs following on from that one. LR take note. But then people keep buying LRs even though they've had huge problems - maybe LR don't care because they don't need to; the UK customer base appears to contain a large percentage of masochists! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

Funny thing that. I have a clonk from the rear and only time it does it is the join between my lane and concrete yard.
