United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

That was an even more gut wrencher of a story than expected. If there is a god - you should certainly have no more trouble with your new motor. Thanks for sharing it with us all. If as a result of your efforts LR really does make an effort to improve then we all owe you a massive vote of thanks.

Meanwhile every time I turn the key on the TDV8 am expecting the worst and relieved at the end of every journey 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

I know that feeling; I rather fancy a road trip down to Italy but I really can't swear that I'm confident of getting there and back in the Sport without a reliability issue. Which is ridiculous in something that is intended to be a sports tourer - that sort of journey is what the Sport should be perfect for.

The fact that a friend did something similar last year and had three days of problems in northern Italy thanks to his Sport letting him down makes me think twice and then twice again! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Think you have to think positive and just go do it. Just make sure you have European rescue. I'm going to do the Tuscan trip thing, although in the barge it won't be quite so much fun. Laughing
I really don't think I will have changed anything, but at least now LR is a bit more aware that their existing customers are having problems and that they are no longer just going to sit and wait incase LR decide to help. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

What a nightmare from day one!

Here's hoping the FF will settle all your wows Thumbs Up

Totally agree regarding the towing capability/feel of LR's compared to others....

I've just looked at an SQ5, which ticks all the boxes, except when it comes to towing my twin axle van....

Plus the sport looks waaay more exclusive... Laughing RRS gone

Wishing all the best with your September delivery

The FFRR looks a stunning car & may you have years of trouble free motoring as probably most do on this forum.

Sadly the problems would be so much easier if JLR took responsibility for the car & their dealers & just put as much effort into solving the problem as opposed to currently trying to find reasons whty it not their fault Exclamation

I've gone down market back to my roots to a new defender & for nice days will use my SL Cool Paul

Never going to happen - the whole point of franchised dealers is that the manufacturer makes money and the dealers take the flack. At least that's how the suits view it. Anyone with any sense would realise that manufacturers who deal properly with customer issues build a reputation for being customer focussed and caring. People will then put up with the occasional issues. If you go down the "we don't care" route that LR (and others) have gone down you better make sure your product is faultless. Or that you have a large untapped market. LR don't care about their UK customer base because the rest of the world is a big new market place.

I used to work with a chap who drive a BMW 325. He got a letter from BMW saying that there had been reports that there was a manufacturing issue with the engine. They replaced the engine free of charge even though it was running beautifully. Unsurprisingly he's had several BMWs following on from that one. LR take note. But then people keep buying LRs even though they've had huge problems - maybe LR don't care because they don't need to; the UK customer base appears to contain a large percentage of masochists! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

simple, understand your situation and good luck with FullFatt.
Sadly, the FF too is inflicted with the dreaded "RRS knock"...
