Bonnet open error

Hi all,

Been under the bonnet this afternoon tinkering with my LED lights and when I closed up and try and lock up the car beeps/horns at me, on the dash getting 'bonnet open' error.... Checked all cables they seem ok...

Really Confused

Any advise chaps?

Cheers

Think it's the nearside ( right as you looking towards engine ) that has the switch in it. Make sure you haven't left any tools under the bonnet Thumbs Up 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

I always have to push down firmly with the palm of my hand in both front corners of the bonnet before it will shut properly, you get a nice reassuring click when its shut down ok otherwise I get the dreaded honk! MY16 AUTOBIOGRAPHY Indus silver with some toys

Hi... After a few attempts I let the bonnet close from a height just in case it was that, seems to be securely shut....

Have a look at this thread: http://rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic20468.html?highlight=hood+switch
May be just a case of taking out the switch and giving it a good clean. If it's been greased that can stop it making contact. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Hi Paddi

another emergency trick is to stick a paperclip into the plug, thus completing the circuit. (obviously tape it up to stop any short circuits) RRS gone
