When did facelift take effect?

Can anyone tell me when (registration type) the facelifted RRS' were sold in the UK? I've heard 2012 but that seems too recent?

Cheers,

I believe there has been 2 major facelift - changes - 2009-10 & 2011 -12 its hard to tell by number plates because the models do crossover the vehicle registration dates. Smile 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

Thanks. I didn't know there were two facelifts. That improves the pricing slightly!

another pricing jump is the TDV6 and SDV6 (both facelifts) just to confuse you a bit more Laughing RRS gone

More power was required to lug the extra 2 gear cogs around Whistle

The 8 speed coupled with the 10bhp (and whatever torque) increase is meant to be a better blend than the 6 speed... but having only ever driven a TDV6 6 speed I could not comment.

I'm surprised one of the SDV6 guys hasn't TBH Whistle RRS gone

going from 11MY TDV6 to 13MY SDV6 with the 8 speed, it definitely is more nippy Mike

Imo Mike, thats because it has 10 more horses and is lower geared. Wink

It seemed punchy on the autobahns though...im not saying you are wrong but its probably the gearing ratio more generally

The mpg saving come from the gearing resulting in lower RPM. I think there might also have been some engine mapping changes for the SDV6 in addition to the extra power. Mike

You might be right Ady.

My friend went from a 2008 TDV8 to a 2012 SDV6 and he said it's just as nippy.... however his wife has just bought a 2011 D4 with the 6 speed (not sure if it's an SD or a TD) but he says it goes better than his RRS? RRS gone
