Suspension compressor not covered warranty

I have got a warranty with gocarwarranty & registered my first claim yesterday for a failed suspension compressor, guess what this is not covered on my warranty it only covers parts for Front and rear suspension types that is Hydrolastic displacers and hydropneumatic spheres, coil springs, upper and lower wishbones and ball and swivel joints.

As i am not mechanicly minded i pressumed a warranty for a range rover sport would cover my type of suspension.

What cars do you know of that has this type of suspension?

Spheres and hydro are French Censored but can't see how they can exclude air suspension components when a car had them. I think you may need to kick up some sort of trouble with warrentee bods as this sounds like it isn't right warrentee for car. As you have to tell them what car it is, they should be able to say what isn't covered by part not general exclusion. Might be one for FSA or the new body to look at. Big Cry 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. The Metro had hydrolastic suspension I think. Not all of the sphere suspension stuff is French. I wonder if they heard the word "Rover" and picked the wrong vehicle from the list.

Agreed about the warranty though - sounds like they've either sold you tghe wrong warranty or are trying it on. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Had same issue when claiming for my ARB through warranty direct. I asked them numerous times if suspension is covered when i took the policy out, which the guy said 'suspension components are covered'.

When i went to claim, they informed me suspension is not covered. After asking them to review my phonecall due to the above, they came back to me stating i had indeed asked about suspension but the guy selling the policy only stated 'components were covered' but he didnt specifically say the whole suspension system was covered. I argued politely that i only took the warranty out due to the fact the RRS is prone to suspension issues, which i also stated to seller of policy. There are indeed suspension parts covered, but parts that will never fail.

I know people will jump on this with 'should have read the small print', which indeed i should have but, after guy badgering me for 2 weeks and me asking same questions all the time, i was stupid enough to think everything was covered. They even stated the warranty was better than LR as they cover 'wear and tear parts'.

In a nutshell mate, i wouldnt hold your breath for warranty company footing the bill. 2007 TDV6 HSE

Hydro was a Leyland/Austin creation which ran on stored gas/oil mix, the French way is by hydrolic oil pumped at pressure run by the engine. So very similar to air suspension. So going by this, air legs, pipes and related components won't be covered either. Rolling Eyes 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Many thanks for all the replies & opologies for this rant.

Rang gocarwarranty to complain that i thought i had been missold this warranty as it was not fit for my cars needs. This was dealt with the most arrogant customer service person i have ever had the pleasure of speaking to. All he repaeted was "Read your terms & Conditions" When i asked him to explain what Hydrolastic displacers and hydropneumatic spheres were & what cars had this type of suspension he new as much as i did which is nothing. He suggested that before i took out the policy i should have had the T & Cs read by a qualified mechanic to see if it was a suitable policy for my car.

The policy was taken out with ease over the phone in 5 minuites after they had called me twice previously telling me how fantastic there policy was, Now i have a complaint i have spoke to 5 peaple been past from pillar to post & now have to send a letter in writing by post (probably with my great great grandads dads signature on it)

BEWARE ALL when buying a warranty that you get it checked out first, The slimmy Ba :censored:rds will wriggle out if they can.

Lol. Sound typical. I would have thought that if it covers hydro pump then it should cover air pump. In English, most people will not know what is underneath. I would be persistent in chasing up the bar stewards and also ask for a transcript of original call. You don't sound like a dummy to me so I'm sure you asked if it was suitable policy for RR sport! 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

I asked for recording of my calls, its all in their 'wording' over the phone too. Imagine how i felt after they pestered me for over 2 weeks to take out a warranty with them, the numerous conversations i had with 'Mark' about the warranty, how i constantly told him they will always wriggle out of it if i claim, to be constantly told the warranty is perfect, even quoting how many claims they deal with for LR's.

I call them up for the first thing that goes wrong, assured in the fact its all covered as spoke about, to be told 'not covered'.

I was left with a £1700 repair, and also over £800 out of pocket for a warranty thats only good for wiping my backside with. 2007 TDV6 HSE

Remember your legal right to have faults rectified within a reasonable period/mileage are with the garage who sold you the car.

Within 3 months you can expect pretty much anything to be rectified/repaired; within 6 months most of main components would be down to the seller (and possibly JLR) and up until the car's about 6 years old then engine and gearbox assemblies should be trouble free and JLR may well contribute if it has a full dealer service history.

3rd Party warranties are just underwriting and extending your consumer rights they do not reduce them.

How long have you owned it?

Don't be fobbed off the compressor is not a serviceable item or a wear and tear component.
