Preheater Started Working Again

Being a fairly new TDV8 owner ( Nov 2012), it took a while to realise that the pre heater wasn't working. So after searching in this forum, I read up all about how to reset it but had decided that i would get all the parts I needed later on, make up the lead and reset it in time for winter. However, 05:30 yesterday morning as my wife reversed of the drive it was working Shocked , tell tale smoke screen. How the hell has this happened. She even noticed the difference in heater temp on her way to work. Now I know that last winter the car was stop start halve a dozen times at least on one day before going to the petrol station with the diesel light on so it must have been locked out. I had it serviced last month would they have reset it as par for course or not. any ideas would be gratefully appretiated. Thumbs Up 07 tdv8 stornoway grey at home tucked up

low fuel light will disable the FBH and the temp hs to be lower than 5 degrees also.

The heater is automatic, no switches there..

It will start automatically, when the "snowflake"
appears in the info screen..

Probably the service somehow resetted the
FBH (Fuel Burning Heater)..

Happy for You that it works now anyhow.

I have a remote-controller for my FBH, bought from
Pete at BellAutoServices..
Easy to install, and You can reset, and start the FBH
whenever You like, can "warmly" recommend that thing..

I mean the interior heater in the car, not the FBH Laughing

If the car was serviced by a main dealer and they did the service correctly any software updates will have been be installed, before these updates are installed all error codes are deleted, these error codes could have not been allowing the FBH to start.
