Has anybody tried using the scissor jack supplied in the boot? You're given a short "hook" with which crank it up.., impossible. I work out and still had to get a long wrench and socket. Those bloody 20" wheels are a pain too, and just try and getting the wheelnuts off after the YTS at your local Kwik Fit has gunned-them back on. Phew!!! |

I did the same thing as you Jay, except I'm a lazy bastard and just shoved a screwdriver through the old green badge, then slapped-on four new black-badged caps purchased for about a tenner from good old Uncle Ebay. Took me 3 minutes!! |

I like Brian's way of business! How much is your time worth, if it's more than the cost of centre caps then just destroy the old ones!

Actually, I was quite careful. Place the screwdriver against the soft plastic outer and thump with palm of hand. Alloy perfect, mind you, I broke my wrist? There goes my sex-life!!! |

Just a thought, if you were to get a flat why not put the suspension in to high, put the jack underneath then put the suspension in to access mode, would it then lift the wheel off the ground without the need to jack the car up manually some of my Previous cars -------------------------------- P38 Range Rover Autobiography RRS 2.7 HSE Silver RRS TDV8 HSE silver FFRR Vogue black Disco3 HSE silver RRS 2.7 HSE silver RRS 3.0 HSE BALTI BLUE ______________________________ current vehicles RRS 3.0 L494 Autobiography Audi R8 V10 Spyder AC Cobra Landrover Defender 90 Landrover Defender 110 Suzuki Jimney |

Sadly, no! But in my defence, it IS in the garage every other week. One day I'll get a chance to just get in and start enjoying the bloody thing. Then I'll tentatively push a few buttons. Mind you, true to form, I bet they'll break!!! |
