Is it just this fault or are other faults coming up as well? 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

You will need codes read then to find out what is triggering warning. As voltage fluctuation is the the most common cause, and you have covered that, there is obviously a more deep routed problem. Am sure there will be someone local to you who can do this or a trip to a local garage or dealer is in order 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

I forgot to say that it only seems to happen when using the car over 40 mph. |

Had the same problem - it does need to be read and a fault code found but mine was a temperature sensor - it cost £15 and was fitted by the RAC - never had a problem since.

Thanks for the replies.... do you know if the fault has to be showing for the rac or garage to be able to find the fault with the diagnostics, as it does clear for a while once the ignition is off? |

If the fault clears when you restart it might not be recorded in the log, but theory says all faults should be recorded. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Mine had cleared but was found via the RAC diagnostic reader.

It could be many things, from a brake switch to something more sinister.

That's not so good! Hopefully guy you got it from will do the right thing and get it sorted. Have to say its the first torque converter failure I have heard of, although heard of plenty with gearbox warnings including my own. In my case it was the ECU under the battery filled with water after battery box was not refitted correctly after body was removed to replace turbos. Reason I asked if there were other warnings was that mine also had suspension warnings randomly popping up.

sorry to hear that mate - every time I get a error message I see £ signs - these motors are good when there good but expensive when there bad - was it a reputable garage ? - I test drove mine & thought nothing was wrong - within hours - amber warning lights had a right scrap with the seller - but I've kept with it & although its now 7 years old its the best motor I've ever had - really hope they sort it for you. 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............
