RR sport transmission fault

Hi, don't know what the code was but the current when it comes on dash says transmission fault
The rac plugged it in and it said there was a current fault which was the torque converter and may go into limp mode and also an underlying fault of EGR valve Sad

You should have got an inspection sheet on which the mobile should record the actual codes the machine found. The code is far more important than the error so a repairer can diagnose the fault. Hopefully the mobile didn't clear the codes, just simply read them. The error diagnosis by machine is only as good as the software writer and often a fault code can be caused by other issues so the error is not gospel where as the code is. As above. Just because one fault is stored, does not mean that component is faulty.

A good deal of experience comes into diagnosis now and then (especially with the LR brand Rolling Eyes )

I suspect the your best bet now would be to drive the car until the fault happens, and take it to a specialist with LR specific diagnostics, and get the faults re-read, and report back Thumbs Up

EDIT: Unless you have a warranty. Then let them deal with it...

Hi Steve,

Once youv'e got your money back might be worth putting the vehicle details on the forum so another punter does not buy without ensuring its repaired properly as obviously the garage do not intend doing that !

Good luck with you search, might be more expensive but go for main dealer with LR warranty lots of others on here caught by none LR warranty with more exclusions than than a cheap Ryan Air flight.

Good luck Paul

That is an expensive oil change. One wonders if the first long journey might relight the warning icon Whistle 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
