Hi...congrats on your new purchase!

Yes the heated steering wheel can be retro fitted. I believe you'll need a steering wheel, a clock ring, a switch, wiring loom and possibly a relay.

It has been done before and there are a few posts on the site if you give it a quick search. Want to do a DIY job on your car? Check out the definitive 'how to' thread in the technical section Thumbs Up

Not a DIY ona new motor.

Be ready to loose an arm and a leg - you'll need a stealer to do the work otherwise be ready for some wriggling if you need to make a warranty claim.

Yes you can DIY on a new motor. In fact its much easier on a newer motor as the wiring to the clock spring is already there.

Clock spring is about £250, SOME will already have the right clock spring so you'd just need a new heated wheel and switch pack.

To check, you need to remove the airbag, which may be daunting, but its quite straight forward.
Can't see how it will affect wty as its all RR parts. Bodsys Brake Bible

Sure Bodsy the OP can do anything he likes to his New motor as its his - if it is part financed it may not be such a good idea as its not just their property.

I didn't say it would be a warranty issue but given the way RRS electrics have been known to play up the OP might just be exposing himself to a onesided discussion if future electronic issues arise or, indeed, should the retrofit have the odd wrinkle.

I hear what you're saying, but there would be nothing other than Genuine RRS Parts fitted, not even a piece of wire assuming it has the right loom (which I'm pretty sure they all have now). ISTR Options fitted within 30 days of new purchase have the same wty as the car (3 years) Bodsys Brake Bible

Yup, bought my First Edition Vesuvius Red/Orange RRS thinking it would be a bit different since only 50 were ever made in that colour, saw two of them the very week end I purchased it, one on the way home from doing the deal Thud

But only if fitted by a dealer. DIY would void any warranty related to that part. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Vesuvius Red/Orange now there was a colour. Knew a bloke that paid 8K to have his RRS painted that colour coz they didn't produce them in that colour any more. MY 11 RRS Luxury Stornoway Grey Ivory/Black leather contrast stitching Logic7 side steps roof DVD system for the grand daughter. Mercedes SL500 for the summer. Vito Sport X for work. Gone to many to list but what larks
