Buying a Warranty Advice

Just found out that my Warranty claim limit is only £750, with what they put on the car when i bought it last month,

I think i have a pending Turbo Problem, so thinking of buying a good warranty myself.

RRS TDV8 with 89k 2007

Any ideas??

You might be able to get Land Rover's "Select" warranty which has a single claim limit of £3500. Not sure if you'd need to get the vehicle assessed by a LR dealer first though. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Just called LR , they offered me a named parts only policy for about £ 800,,, thats after doing an inspection like you said.

It sounded like it would only cover the big stuff,, but also sounded like if anything could be pinned against waer and tear at 90k ,, it might not be easy to claim:(

At 90k lots of stuff might reasonably be considered to be wear though. Stuff doesn't last forever. But if they cover the big stuff then it might be a reasonable one to look at.

Some 3rd party warranties do cover for wear and tear on a scale that reduces with the age of the vehicle e.g. at 4 years old they might cover 100% of the cost but at 10 years old only 50%. Again that's not unreasonable and keeps over all premiums down. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

My personal opinion based upon experience here....

Steer well clear of Warranty Direct.

AA do a bolt on to Breakdown cover for £48 pa gives you £500 max a time (8 claims a year). Again, you'll get more assistance financially than you will from WD...

Personal opinion based upon experience as I say... 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE in Artic Frost. 20" 2010 HST Alloys, sidesteps, Hawke tips, plus minor bits and bobs along with a remap. Four spike spiders ready for the Alps again now tucked up in their garage boxes...

Look at Select on this page:
http://www.usedvehicles.landrover.co.uk/features_and_benefits
The benefit of the LR warranty is that they deal with LR dealers direct and they fit LR parts etc.
The downside is that you deal with LR dealers and they don't cover wear and tear 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
