Newbie advice

Hi all, I am new to the forum and what a great forum ive found it to be. Iam looking at buying my first range rover sport in the early stages of next year. Ive got a max of 26k to spend on one, but i will only be doing a max of 7000 miles a year. I was wondering if people could advise me on what is best to buy i.e petrol or diesel. As i dont think i will benefit that much from a diesel because of my low mileage each year. And you seem to be able to buy a lower mileage petrol for the money. Smile Thanks Gray

2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Bonatti Grey

Hi Gray, I agree with your logic and on a low / 7000 miles a year, having faced a similar question myself when I got my SC, personally I'd definitely say get the supercharged.

Great car, you're bound to love it Thumbs Up

Good luck. Carl

I'm not convinced buying an s/c because its cheaper is the way to go. Yes its cheaper now, but there's a good chance you'll suffer when it comes to resale as the market for people wanting large petrol engined cars is getting smaller and smaller.

But as it only takes a like minded person to come along, so you never know! Bow down

Personally I've gone for a diesel and I only do 6-8K per year, but I like the way diesels drive. Thumbs Up

Plus my other car is supercharged Whistle 2016 VW Golf GTD DSG

TBH you need to have a go in both the Sc and TDV8. £26K will get you very a tidy version of either.

No point in comparing the TDV6 with the SC or the TDV8 for that matter Laughing FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy
Ex 2006 RRS SC - garbage
Ex 2016 135i M Sport - dream car
Ex 2003 RS6 Avant - piece of cr*p
Ex 2014 320d X Drive, M Sport Touring - ok I guess
Ex 2007 RRS TDV8 - bloody loved it
EX 2007 FL2 XS - not so bad
