No its out of warranty unfortunately. It was winding down a little but now it is just spinning ![]() |

Think you will find its a new one then. I would take it off and see if it can be repaired, but thats how my brain works

i'll give it a shot. Try n take it off myself and see how it goes. 6bolts u say? are they visible from underneath the car. To be honest ive not even looked as it was dark when i picked the car up. Range Rover Sport Supercharged 2006 plate |

Well known problem. It's a new winch assembly in my experience. FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

Total waste of time trying to repair, its a sealed unit, i prised it open but to no avil.

Had this problem myself - nearly gave up but a Rac friend came to my rescue - remove the sealed unit from the car - place it in a vice - slowly but with force pull the cable out of unit - get someone else to hold a ratchet / spanner on the bolt that lowers - highers the cable on the unit itself - this is to add resistance. I've now had to do this process twice both times with success. It's a known fault but doesn't have to mean replacing.Good luck. |
