Fuel tank door not locking

First of Hello to everyone. I have recently joined this forum and hoping to join the range rover community to help, get help and share.

i own Range Rover Sport 2.8 TD HSE 07 registration. Last night after locking the car using the remote out of curiosity i checked if the fuel tank door would lock as it does for most cars and to my surprise it didn't lock.

Bit concerned here as this is a danger and anyone can access and open the fuel cap etc. Could somebody please advise.

Many thanks in advance. Thumbs Up

No mine is rarely left unattended so not too bothered tbh.
I would have thought it would be a land rover part. TDV8 Java black/Ebony black

Yeah i agree- can't believe whether this was a build flaw?

Problem is when we leave cars parked elsewhere its open to risk.

Thanks for your help mate.

Has anyone fixed this issue?

Before spending too much cash you might want to check its not just a blown fuse

Hi gents.

The locking pin for the tank "door" is controlled via the CAN-Bus system,
so You canīt just check with 12V,and the most common fault is that the pin,
that should engage the "door" is broken.

I trhink that the most common scenario is:

"Car locked, "door" not closed completely, gives "door" a "gentle" shove to close it..."
Result: Pin off..

If You lock the car, whilst checking in the hole where the pin should emerge,
and You just see the pin coming to the rim of the hole, then the pin is broken,
and You have to get a new actuator.

They are not expensive, and easy to change, situated behind the inner
moulding of the luggagecompartment.

Best regards

Uffe As a rule, I always resist temptations,
unless they are irresistible.
