Radio/6CD Facia panel 2009 RR/SPORT HSE

Hi folks, just had a problem with Radio/CD select/eject buttons not working. Main Agent said would require complete Radio/CD unit. £875 + Vat.
Found company on net selling front facia panel £200 exchange or £330 if your unit was broken (which mine had several buttons not functioning).
Low and behold Rimmers of Lincoln will sell you a Genuine Landrover Facia for £178.
Spoke direct to Land Rover Customer Service who told me it can't be done.
Now I'm not a radio engineer but with my limited knowledge and a quick referral to You Tube I was able to replace the facia panel without any problems in a couple of hours. Saving myself hundreds of £££'s.

Replacement radio

Hi all,

What's involved in replacing the radio in my MY12 Sport? Would it require a complete new unit head or is it simpler than that.

My existing radio loses signal regularly so I've jumped to the conclusion that it's the radio itself at fault whereas I suppose it could be the antenna.

Any thoughts out there?

The antena would be the cheapest and easiest thing to check first. Are you loosing signal on anything else TV, FM or DAB?
Are you are loosing channels on DAB only, as some stations on DAB Emsemble have a very limited range so it does appear you loose the signal. Check with a strong station such as R2 to see if fades on FM first.
People have changed head units, but not normally cheap or even straight forward, depends on what you want really.
Swapping for the same unit would be a straightforward procedure. John
