I've driven them all re: Sport (the TDV8 the most). The gap between the TDV8 and V6 is narrowing (SDV6 very close now) where as it used to be a huge chasm i.e. the 2.7 TDV6 ============

I've come to the conclusion that LR see the Sport as the iPhone of the range. Make it shiny and keep making little changes every year or two and people will buy it even though other stuff is actually "better". Works for Apple and, apparently, it works for LR too... I remain convinced that, if they wanted to, LR could make the 4.4 work in the Sport. I think they don't because they know their market - most Sports aren't driven by people who want sporty; they're driven by people who want image. Perhaps they think that the sporty people will have the SC and the image people will have the oil burner and be happy with the merely-average performance. Perhaps they're right. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

I can't believe people are getting 27mpg around town and 35+ on run from a TDV6. I've had mine for over 6 years and will always get around 19 around town and 30 max on a steady run. And yes it is quite slow compared with latest SUV's. 2014 Nara Bronze SDV6

My 3.0 TDV6 is noticeably more lively now it's passed the 10,000 mark.
