I know we are talking sports - just saying having driven 3.0 TDV6, 3.0 SDV6 and 4.4 TDV8 extensively over the last few months the 4.4 is awesome and should be in the RRS - it is a joke that the sport is slower Rolling Eyes

The SDV6 still felt slow compared to 4.4 but may improve when run in. Have not driven a RRS 3.6 TDV8 though so not qualified to comment Embarassed

Last week 500 mile round trip 32.5 mpg in TDV6 sitting most of time around 70 on motorways - normally get around 27 for day to day and 22 towing van Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black

I've driven them all re: Sport (the TDV8 the most). The gap between the TDV8 and V6 is narrowing (SDV6 very close now) where as it used to be a huge chasm i.e. the 2.7 TDV6 ============
2010 TDV8 HSE - ooo laa laaaaaaaaa
2007 TDV8 HSE - superb car and very reliable

2012 - dearly departed, sadly missed.. to return in late 2013 with a new TDV8!

I've come to the conclusion that LR see the Sport as the iPhone of the range. Make it shiny and keep making little changes every year or two and people will buy it even though other stuff is actually "better". Works for Apple and, apparently, it works for LR too... Embarassed

I remain convinced that, if they wanted to, LR could make the 4.4 work in the Sport. I think they don't because they know their market - most Sports aren't driven by people who want sporty; they're driven by people who want image. Perhaps they think that the sporty people will have the SC and the image people will have the oil burner and be happy with the merely-average performance. Perhaps they're right. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

England 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Nara Bronze

I can't believe people are getting 27mpg around town and 35+ on run from a TDV6. I've had mine for over 6 years and will always get around 19 around town and 30 max on a steady run. And yes it is quite slow compared with latest SUV's. 2014 Nara Bronze SDV6
GONE TDV6 HSE RRS in Giverny green,Ebony interior, Side steps,Tints, PTI, Tow pack, mud flaps, Side strips and Dynamics pack.

My 3.0 TDV6 is noticeably more lively now it's passed the 10,000 mark.

20 to 23 MPG in London tedium, 25 to 28 MPG normal town / mixed traffic, 28 (min) to 35 (max) MPG on runs inc. motorways.

I've gotten used to having two less cylinders. Sort of. I mean, how many cylinders do you need? 6 is plenty. Yep. 6 bad boys. 8's a waste. V6 is fine. Big Cry

V8 with Start / Stop would be nice! L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
RRS TDV6 HSE Lux (MY2011)... Nara Bronze / Arabica - now gone!
