FOLDING DOOR MIRRORS - AUTOMATIC?

My mirrors fold if you move the knob down.
I would guess that this is a simple latching switch.

Although the door locks are controlled by the CANbus, ultimately the drive to the lock solenoids must be either 12v or earth.
I'm wondering if with a simple relay or two you could link the locking/unlocking to the mirror fold/unfold?

Has anyone done it?

Does anyone have the circuits or should I buy an hour of Topix? Current: MY15 RRS2 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic, Aruba Gold, HUD, Meridian 1700w
Gone: RRS TDV6 2007 Stornaway
Gone: P38 2.5 DHSE

The latest Freelander does this. Might be worth looking at the wiring diagram for that? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

My 2010 RRS does it.

My 06 RR doesn't Sad

Would be interested in a solution. There was a chap over on the fullfat forum who came up with a solution, got everyone excited, offered to build the circuits at a cost, then disappeared...

They have done this for years...at some point you could enable it when not not default...I don't know when, I'm sure at 57 they were power fold.

Worth looking to see if it can be enabled on early cars Mike

I think it came when the facelift was released.

To clarify, I'm not just talking power folding, mine will automatically fold in when the car is locked.
Those with earlier models, is that the same Question ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

My MY08 doesn't...

You can power fold the mirrors by pressing the mirror control but it doesn't do it when you lock the vehicle. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
