So you have every intension of trying to evade the law. Shocked

Don't go across the channel as if detected, and they can be, the police will take away your car never to be seen again.

If you don't declare it on your insurance it will be void. If you do you probably won't get any.

Save the hassle and invest the money in a decent driving course. Just a thought Wink

Agreed. Jammers are just asking for trouble and are indefensible at law - you are interfering with a poliice officer in his duties. "Go straight to jail, do not pass go, do not collect £200".

A decent detector / gps-based map system e.g Road Angel or Co Pilot, will give sufficient warning of a possible tax site to allow you to slow down.

Bear in mind that if plod points his detector at you and gets a scrambled reading (and I believe modern systems know when they are being jammed) then he will pull you over. And if he finds the jammer? Goodbye lots of money and possibly your licence.

The alternative is to spend the money on a decent advanced driving course. Or just make an effort at reading the road ahead and anticipating/observing the speed traps before they're a problem. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Why should i/we offer to help someone who is blatantly wanting to break the law Question An advanced driver at that Shocked Obviously the advance driving course hasn't taught him much has it Question A while ago there was a case where one guy got caught with having a speed camera jammer fitted to his car and the courts made an example of him and he was banned for 6 months, so we might be doing alan broth a favour by making him aware of the consequences Thumbs Up

Sadly It seems to be coming the norm on here lately Rolling Eyes
Chilly, follow the looms back through the bulk head and if it was mine I would make a quick release connector at the detector head to allow removal when going overseas.

Not sure why it would invalidate your insurance as mentioned earlier as they are not illegal, use them to open your garage doors etc it just happens to interfere with police speed guns, very sorry officer Whistle

Um, I wasn't lecturing - I was suggesting other ways of avoiding speed traps whilst not giving plod an excuse to pull him over. Give them an excuse and they'll have you on the side of the road blowing in to their little machine. Not great if you're driving first thing after a few the night before, for example.

But hey, sorry for trying to be helpful... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

+1 Thumbs Up

If the licence is that important then pay more attention to the road. Call yourself an advanced driver Alan! I don't think so Shocked

Nobody's perfect and a minor discretion is just that, minor. Blatant disregard for the speed limit or driving without due care and attention is another matter.

Do yourself a favour and do (another) driving course.
