I've had 2 speeding tickets in 20 years. The last one was in 1997. Do I still exceed the posted speed limit? Yes I do. Am I careful in reading the road for cameras etc? Yes I am. Do I rely on my licence for my job? Yes I do. Do I feel the need to install a jammer as well as having an up to date GPS-based camera alert system? No I don't. Will I moan if I get a ticket? No I won't. We all break the law regarding speed limits and we all accept the risk by doing so. TBH, your condescending attitude to others in this thread is no better than the similar attitude you ascribe to those who are vocal in their condemnation of jammers. Some people feel that if you want to speed you should either pay attention or take the points. You seem to think that poking a copper in the eye with a stick is an acceptable way to avoid a ticket. Not sure I can see why you think your position is superior. If it's that important to the OP to avoid a speeding ticket, then perhaps he should just slow down. If it's not that important then perhaps he should just pay attention and accept the points/fine in the rare event that he gets caught. Having said all that, if he wants to run a wire from the bumper to the cabin, I would have thought that the exisiting bulkhead penetrations would have provided sufficient space for a couple of thin wires... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

Thanks for your thoughts and not sure where i have been condescending but if I have then it can be no worse than the "Holier than thou" attitude of some in this thread, what the OP is doing is not illegal and IMO did not deserve the response he got from some when all he was asking for was a little advice. |

Thats all i offered Leeds, advice, granted i was shocked that an advanced driver wanted to fit a jammer in the first place and i only made him aware of the consequences should he get caught using it. Which i'm pretty sure he will know that already. |

^^ +1 I'm not perfect by any means but I do my best to set an example. I have to in my job. I also know that any points on my licence would probably end my career. |

Now now nannas...its not like you to be so judgmental......There is normally more broad minded and adult (not nanna) discourse on here.

Yes, take it all with a pinch of salt. We're all moaning minnies trying to stop you having fun!
http://www.motoring.marymonson.co.uk/radar...ameras.php No one is saying don't speed - we all do it and we all take the risk of being caught. But all it costs is a few tenners and 3 points (or a 4 hour session being lecturered at if you're "lucky"). But bear in mind that a jammer falls in to the category of "attempting to pervert the course of justice" and can lead to prison time and a criminal record. By all means take the advice of those moaning about others being moaning minnies but please keep in mind that they won't be the ones in High Court if you get caught. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

Water off a ducks back..... Not exactly "job". I'm a driving test examiner. Multi disciplined, assess and check instructors continued ability to do the job as well as examiners as well. Unfortunately, I have had to take peoples careers away from them. All the families cars are well know and if anyone does anything I hear about it very quickly! Almost weekly I hear a hard luck story from someone who feels hard done by having had thier licence taken away. Ducks for cover. |

A few of my mates are test examiners, a few are driving instructors, and my neighbour is a police pursuit examiner, so i know how important my licence is and not worth the risk of such a device. |

As someone who is involved with the law (albeit construction related, and no, I'm not a lawyer) on a daily basis, I just think both sides of the issue should be covered. Now the OP can make a more informed decision.
